THE PICTURES OF GEORGE L BOAG TAKEN FROM 1908 TO 1912
PICTURES 51 TO 57
Lastly, a mixture of images from all over.
On the left is a mackerel boat leaving Aguilas harbour and on the right Near Almajalejo
On the left is Calle de Prim in Lorca (the castle can be seen in the background) and on the right Tea time at the railway tennis club
The pictures below are:
- E. B. Forbes and Professor Forbes at Huercal Overa. The date on this picture (Nov 1909) agrees with the time that E. Forbes was called in to do something about the poor water used in the engines. See page 70 in my book. It seems that the Professor was E. Forbes' brother. The engine that can just be seen is a saddle tank. I assume that this was either No 101 or 102 of ex Hett Maylor stock, see page 135 in my book. I think that the carriage is the same as the one in the distance at Seron Station on the previous page. {?/11/09 Could have been taken on the same trip as the one on 30/11/09 (previous web page). He went to Baza with Mr Forbes and his brother, and seems to have stopped at various stations for Mr Forbes to meet the staff, with a view to making economies - AM.}
- Engine No 21, Lumbreras, at Tijola
- MZA (Madrid Zaragoza Alicante Railway) 4-6-0 engine No 873 at Alcantarilla. The caption says that it was pulling the Alicante - Madrid Mail Train.
